With 271 scientific studies published in national medical journals and 17 articles in reputable international journals, Professor Ta Van Tram has made a profound impact in the medical field. He has also led three provincial-level science and technology projects rated “excellent,” five provincial-level initiatives, and 55 grassroots-level scientific projects.

Notably, Professor Tram’s project “Developing an intervention model to reduce hepatitis B infection rates and manage chronic hepatitis B patients in Tien Giang Province” was recognized by the former Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee for its effectiveness and nationwide impact.

This project, rated “excellent” upon evaluation, studied 1,224 residents aged 10 and above and monitored 104 chronic hepatitis B patients, proposing an effective intervention model that helps reduce hepatitis B infection rates in the community.

Since its application in 2016, the percentage of chronic hepatitis B patients requiring referral to higher-level hospitals decreased from 42.5% in 2015 to 9.8% in 2017, helping reduce costs and improve quality of life for patients.

The entire research was published by the Medical Publishing House as the monograph “Viral Hepatitis B” in 2019, circulated nationwide and adopted as teaching material in several medical institutions. The study has also served as a reference for doctoral researchers and provincial-level projects in Tra Vinh and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

As an educator, Professor Tram currently serves as a visiting lecturer at several prestigious medical universities. He has supervised nine doctoral candidates, 122 master’s students, and authored ten books and textbooks for medical training, contributing significantly to the development of high-quality healthcare human resources nationwide.
