Dong Thap Leaders Pay Tribute at Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery

(DTO) On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the All-People’s National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2025), a delegation from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap, along with the provincial armed forces, offered flowers and paid tribute to fallen heroes at the Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery in Trung An Ward on the morning of December 22.

Attending the memorial ceremony were  Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee; leaders of the Provincial Military Command and Provincial Police; representatives of various departments, agencies, and the youth union, along with the provincial armed forces.

In a solemn atmosphere, delegates laid flowers and offered incense at the martyrs’ memorial monument and observed a moment of silence to honor the heroic martyrs who made great sacrifices for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and the fulfillment of noble international duties.

Following the wreath-laying and incense-offering ceremony at the memorial monument, delegates visited individual graves to offer incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs resting at the Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery. To achieve today’s peaceful, prosperous, free, and happy life, countless soldiers and compatriots laid down their lives. These achievements are the result of the tremendous contributions in both human and material resources made by the entire Party, the military and the people.

The activity holds profound significance, reflecting the deep gratitude and remembrance of the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces, and people of Dong Thap Province toward the heroic martyrs. Upholding and promoting the revolutionary tradition and the moral principle of “When drinking water, remember its source,” today’s generations pledge to remain united, actively engage in emulation movements in labor and production, and contribute to building and safeguarding the homeland - thereby creating strong momentum for the provincial Party Committee, the authorities, and the people to resolutely fulfill set goals, closely linking socio-economic development with the consolidation of national defense and security, and building Dong Thap Province to become increasingly prosperous, civilized, and developed.
