Dong Thap Provincial Leaders Visit and Extend Christmas Greetings for 2025

(DTO) In the afternoon of December 23, a delegation from the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province, led by Mr. Phan Van Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Head of the Provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, paid visits and extended Christmas greetings to religious establishments on the occasion of Christmas 2025.

The delegation visited and conveyed greetings to the My Tho Diocese and the Representative Committee of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in Dong Thap Province.

At each stop, on behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Phan Van Thang conveyed warm Christmas wishes of peace and happiness to the Bishop, priests, and all Catholic parishioners, as well as to pastors and Protestant believers across the province.

On this occasion, Mr. Phan Van Thang also shared updates with the Bishop, priests, and pastors on Dong Thap’s socio-economic development in 2025. He emphasized that among the province’s achievements over the past year were the meaningful contributions of both Catholic and Protestant communities.

He expressed gratitude to Catholic and Protestant dignitaries for guiding their parishioners to actively support major campaigns of the Party and the State. With the spirit of honoring God and loving the homeland, parishioners have contributed significantly to the province’s overall development. In particular, Catholic and Protestant communities have played an important role in public health care and education initiatives.

Bishop Nguyen Van Kham, Bishop of the Diocese of My Tho, expressed his joy and appreciation for the attention of the Party, the State, and provincial leaders in facilitating religious activities in Dong Thap. He affirmed that in the coming time, bishops, priests, and parishioners will continue upholding the spirit of “living a good life and a good faith,” comply with the Party’s guidelines and directions, as well as the State’s policies and laws, and maintain charitable and humanitarian activities to support local social welfare efforts.

Pastor Pham Thanh Loan, Head of the Representative Committee of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in Dong Thap Province, affirmed that alongside religious practice, Protestant believers in the province will continue accompanying local authorities in social welfare efforts for a better community.
