(DTO) On the afternoon of April 17, in Tan Dong Commune, Binh doan 20 (Saigon Newport Corporation), in coordination with the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, organized the groundbreaking and commencement ceremony for the Tan Dong Primary School project.
The ceremony was attended by: General Nguyen Trong Nghia-Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son-Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Major General Ngo Minh Thuan—Commander of Binh doan 20 and Chairman/General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation; and Mr. Pham Thành Ngai-Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee.

The Tan Dong Primary School project, constructed in Tan Dong Commune, is sponsored by Binh doan 20 with an investment of 49 billion VND. The scale of the project includes 20 classrooms, an administrative and management block, a multi-purpose hall, a cafeteria, a parking garage, and other auxiliary facilities.
The project will accommodate nearly 700 local students, contributing to the development needs of the locality. It is expected to be completed by March 2027.

This is a key project with practical significance for education, reflecting the profound concern of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Party committees and authorities of Dong Thap province for border and coastal areas facing difficulties.
Upon completion, the facility is expected to meet the learning needs of local children, improve the quality of education and training, and develop human resources in the area. Furthermore, it serves as a meaningful project in consolidating the "people's heart posture" and strengthening the flesh-and-blood relationship between the Army and the People in the region.

To ensure the project is completed on schedule, ensuring safety and quality for its intended use, General Nguyen Trong Nghia requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the leadership of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee to continue directing relevant departments, sectors, and local authorities to coordinate closely with Binh doan 20 (Ministry of National Defense) and construction units. He urged that this be treated as a central task for the locality in 2026, with regular inspections to ensure the project is implemented quickly, effectively, and meets or exceeds the proposed timeline.

Furthermore, General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that consulting, design, and construction units must uphold their responsibilities to ensure absolute safety and high technical quality. The project should be worthy of the trust and expectations of the people, teachers, and students of Tan Dong Commune.
During the construction process, the General requested that construction units, the Tan Dong Commune Party Committee and authorities, and Tan Dong Primary School strengthen coordination in inspection and supervision. He particularly stressed the role of community-based supervision to ensure the effective use of resources and to prevent waste and negativity.

On behalf of the local leadership, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai sincerely thanked General Nguyen Trong Nghia and Binh doan 20 for their attention and support. He noted that this was not merely material assistance but also a great source of encouragement for the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Dong Thap province.

Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai emphasized that upon completion, the project would not only optimize learning and teaching needs but also serve as a vital lever to enhance educational quality. The Education and Training sector, along with the School Board, must develop plans for the effective reception, management, and operation of the facility, while continuing to improve the quality of teaching staff and pedagogical methods to meet development requirements in the new era.

On this occasion, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and Corps 20 presented 200 gift sets worth 300 million VND to policy-beneficiary families, disadvantaged households, and poor students with excellent academic records. The Party Committee and Command of the Border Guard, as well as the Party Committee and Command of the Coast Guard, also provided gifts to the school.
