Sa Dec Sky Ablaze: Giant Hot Air Balloons Trialed at the 2025 Sa Dec Flower & Ornamental Plants Festival

(DTO) On the morning of December 30, the atmosphere at Sa Dec Square became more vibrant than ever as the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower & Ornamental Plants Festival conducted a trial run of hot air balloon activities. This is one of the festival’s newest highlights, expected to spark a major attraction in the coming days.

During the trial, the technical team deployed two giant hot air balloons (Level 7) along with 20 mini balloons (Level 1) in vivid colors. The appearance of these massive “flying bags” against the floral backdrop of Sa Dec drew thousands of local residents and visitors eager to sightsee and take photos.

Although three days have passed since the festival’s opening, its appeal shows no sign of cooling down. Ms. Anh Tuyet, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, shared her excitement: “Sa Dec has organized the festival beautifully and attractively. Our group of five has taken hundreds of stunning photos”.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Kim Duyen, a local resident, expressed her pride in this year’s innovations, such as the hot air balloon activities, the exhibition of 1,000 flower varieties, and high-quality OCOP booths. She hopes the event will be held annually, serving both as a cultural playground for locals and a platform to elevate the Sa Dec flower brand.

The official balloon performances will begin in the afternoon of December 31, 2025, and continue through January 3, 2026. The Sa Dec Flower & Ornamental Plants Festival will welcome visitors until January 4, 2026.
