(DTO) With nearly a week until the official opening of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival, the "flower capital" of the Mekong Delta is already buzzing with a festive atmosphere. A giant heart-shaped display crafted from thousands of flower baskets has particularly become a focal point, attracting tourists from all over.

Visitors enjoy taking photos with the “Heart of the Flower Village” installation,
featuring the national flag, at the Tan An Flower Production and Supply Group.

These days, the Tan An Flower Production and Supply Group (Sa Dec Ward, Dong Thap Province) has been bustling with visitors. The most striking highlight is the “Flower Village Heart” installation, creatively paired with the image of the red flag bearing a yellow star fluttering proudly.

A group of visitors from Binh Duong admire and capture memorable moments
at Sa Dec Flower Village.

According to Mr. Dang Quang Giau, representative of the Tan An Flower Production and Supply Group, this structure was meticulously crafted from 1,500 flower baskets of five different varieties. The heart shape primarily features red Moroccan daisies (Cuc mam xoi đo), bordered with yellow Pico chrysanthemums. The pastel pink background is created from periwinkles, cosmos, and scarlet sage (Xac phao). Meanwhile, the national flag is intricately fashioned from the bright red of scarlet sage and the vibrant yellow of Pico chrysanthemums.

Large crowds of tourists check in and capture stunning moments at the new floral landscapes.

Mr. Giau added that the installation conveys the message of a “Patriotic Heart,” symbolizing the affection and pride that local farmers have poured into every flower and blade of grass from their homeland.

The vibrant colors of Sa Dec’s heart-shaped floral display are already drawing visitors from near and far, even before the festival officially opens. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Giau, a visitor from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “After seeing information on social media, I decided to come here. The flowers are blooming early, beautifully, and carry a strong  Tet atmosphere. It’s truly rare to find a place with such a large scale and diversity of flowers as Sa Dec.”

Beyond serving sightseeing needs, the installation also provides an opportunity for gardeners to promote local specialty flower varieties. Notably, the floral gate of the Tan An Flower Production and Supply Group is also competing in the “Beautiful Flower Gate” contest - one of the highlight activities of this year’s festival.
