Thorough Preparations Underway for the 2nd Sa Dec Flower & Ornamental Plant Festival

(DTO) The 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival 2025 is scheduled to take place from December 27, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The Organizing Committee has been focusing on thorough preparations, from infrastructure to operational management, to ensure the event's overall success.

On December 19, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, inspected several preparation tasks.

At the Square, Sa Dec Park and Sa Dec Riverside Promenade (the Old Sa Dec space), construction works are being carried out in an urgent manner. Notably, the Sa Dec Bridge is in its final sprint and expected to open to traffic on December 24 to ensure smooth transportation.

At flower cooperative groups, artistic flower gateways and flower streets have taken shape, offering vibrant and fascinating spaces.

Besides local authorities, businesses and residents are also mobilizing all resources for the major event. At the Mien Tay Lodge tourist site, decorative mini landscapes and photo spots have been completed to welcome visitors.

Mr. Doan Huu Nhieu, owner of Mien Tay Lodge, said they began preparations for the festival early in the year, especially selecting flower varieties most suitable for the event. After trial cultivation, the facility now has more than 100 flower varieties across 20 different species.

In addition to familiar flowers such as cockscomb, petunia, and marigold, Mien Tay Lodge also features new varieties like Lavender, Siler, Snapdragon, impatiens, and treasure flower.

All F1 seeds are imported from the Netherlands, acclimatized outdoors by Syngenta engineers, and planted in ground-level beds to optimize photo opportunities for visitors.

In preparation for the upcoming festival, Ngoc Lan Garden, well-known for its observation tower, has invested heavily in renovations and is now ready to welcome guests.

Mr. Tran Huu Tai, owner of Ngoc Lan Garden, said the garden’s scale has doubled this year, with about 10,000 flower pots to serve visitors’ photo taking needs.

Additionally, the site has completed its artistic flower gate to participate in the local flower gate decoration contest.

Mr. Tai shared: “The attraction of Sa Dec Flower Village increased noticeably after the success of the first festival back in 2023. Infrastructure upgrades, especially the route parallel to Flower Village road, have given the area a more refreshing and modern look. 

I believe with the expanded administrative boundary and the province’s new position, Sa Dec will welcome a surge in visitors at the upcoming festival, while attracting more major investors to elevate the Flower Village brand”.

Following the success of the 1st Flower & Ornamental Plant Festival back in 2023, Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee continues to closely coordinate with consultants, local authorities, and related agencies to implement activities synchronously. 

This year’s festival will feature 18 major activities, with highlights including the Sa Dec Flower Color Space, which showcases 1,000 varieties of flowers and ornamental plants, and Old Sa Dec Space, which recreates the unique culture of the century-old flower-growing land.

The festival will also include the real-scene performance “A Hundred Years of Flower Village Charm,” the music night “The Love of the Flower Land,” hot-air balloon experiences, and the flower market, bringing a lively, colorful atmosphere.

The Organizing Committee has been expediting facility preparations at festival venues. Logistics and medical support for visitors are also being prioritized.

At a working session with relevant agencies and local authorities, Vice Chairman Huynh Minh Tuan emphasized that the 2nd Sa Dec Flower & Ornamental Plant Festival is an important economic and political event for Dong Thap Province and an opportunity to promote Sa Dec Flower Village to domestic and international visitors.

Therefore, preparations must be meticulous and professional. The Vice Chairman set a deadline requiring that all decoration and logistical work be completed no later than the morning of December 26, ensuring readiness for the province’s grand festival.
